Love Poetry

Inside

You always act as though you have a heart that's made of steel,
But I can see right through your pride and know that you can feel.

I know that you love me, but do not love yourself.
Each time you fake a smile I know your heart's screaming for help.

I know the other side of you that's cruel and cold and strong,
And each time it overpowers you, I know you know it's wrong.

I know you yearn for freedom, but your mind gets in the way.
So many thoughts confuse you but somehow you still obey.

You don't always have to listen to that voice inside your head,
For once listen to your heart, and not what people said.
